Interview

I interviewed three of my friends to know how they think about if prostitute become legal, will them support the idea or will they not!
Here’s my question list

‧Do you support the idea that prostitute become a legal occupation and controlled by the government?


‧Why or why not?


‧Do you believe the theory that sex crime will decrease once prostitute become legal?


‧Is it reasonable for the government to ask more tax for those people who go to the red-light district?


‧How will you act when you realize your lover had been to places like this?[My setting is that red-light district includes men and women.]


‧In your imagination, what does a red-light district will look like?


The first two people are Taiwanese, male; they had a very similar opinion toward the idea. They said they will support the idea but only if the government promised to handle the system well. For example, government should make laws that workers in red-light district should examine their body for disease like AIDS regularly, and put the report on the internet or where people can get to know the health condition of these workers. They also said that the consumers in red-light district should be anonymous but everyone should have a special code that can still ID them, since once there anything harm the workers or the consumers, there’s still a evidence for them to find out who did it. Another reason they support the idea is that they believe the sex crime will decrease. I’ve asked them that there’s a report had pointed out these sex criminals want not only sex, but something else. Their point of view is that there are still a part of sex criminals who only want sex, so when you solve the problem, they won’t commit a crime. It’s become interesting when I asked them how will they act when they realized their lover went to the red - light district, and will they go to such places. Their answer is that they will break up with their lover immediately. However, as for themselves, they will still go to such places once or twice out of curiosity!


The third person comes from macaw, also male. He completely disagree with the idea of prostitute become a legal occupation, and he had a very unique point of view! Sine Macaw is famous for casinos, the conflicts between gangs is a very serious problem, he said if red-light district become legal, it will only increase the conflicts between gang since everyone wants to do the business. His comparison is that bad thing doesn’t get better when you try to move it form the drawer to the top of the table, it only expands. Furthermore, he doesn’t believe the sex criminal will decrease because he believe when a person wants to commit a crime, he just do it without any reason.
